Kiln Control Services Ltd Celebrates 20 Years in Business

It’s not every day that a business reaches a milestone anniversary, especially in the current economic climate. That’s why Kiln Control Services Ltd is proud to announce that they are celebrating 20 years in business this year. It’s a remarkable achievement for the company, especially considering their challenges over the years.

Kiln Control Services Ltd was founded in 2003 by Mick Walton and his wife, Sue. With over 15 years of experience working in the Kiln building industry, they decided to take the leap and start their own business. The timing was perfect as they saw a gap in the market for a company that could service the needs of the pottery industry.

The company started out in a small lockup unit in Brown Lees but quickly outgrew the space. Within five years, they moved to new premises in Burslem, which was ideally situated centrally for travel to the various pottery manufacturers. However, the pottery industry was slowly declining, and the company had to diversify to survive.

Kiln Control Services Ltd started to work with various other industries, including specialist ceramics, heavy clay, and sanitary ware. They found that they needed an extra base to manufacture some of the larger kilns, dryers, and associated equipment that they were asked to produce. So, they acquired another operating unit in Longport.

Working between the two units proved to be impractical, and the company realised that they needed to purchase one large unit. After searching long and hard, they found their current premises in Newcastle under Lyme, Staffordshire, in 2016. The location was ideal because it was close to the motorway, which is important for the company’s travel needs. The premises also had a high roof, which was essential for the size of kilns, dryers, and other equipment they repaired and manufactured.

Kiln Control Services Ltd managed to weather the storm with Covid and retain all their employees. They now have 15 permanent staff, three of whom have been with the company from the start. Due to their continuous growth, they are always on the lookout for suitably qualified engineers to join their friendly team.

The company is proud of its achievements over the past 20 years. They have worked with many industries and clients, providing them with the highest quality kilns, dryers, and associated equipment. They have built a reputation for being reliable, efficient, and professional. They are excited about the future and are looking forward to continuing to provide their customers with the best possible service.

Kiln Control Services Ltd’s 20th anniversary is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the company’s founders, Mick and Sue Walton. They have built a successful business from the ground up and have overcome many challenges along the way. Their story is an inspiration to anyone who is thinking of starting their own business. Congratulations to Kiln Control Services Ltd on this remarkable achievement, and here’s to the next 20 years of success.
